Hi,
I had an idea that would make life easier when working with cilanders, cones and spheres. Would it be very hard to add a feature that lets you select a "layer" of vertecies by clicking on one vertex in the layer?

Thanks,

What is a layer of vertices ?
a user defined group of vertices ?
what I don't see is in which way the layer of vertices will help you with cylinder, cone and sphere.

if you want to select a raw of vertices, use the vertex loop tool:
select 2 vertices connected by an edge, then press 'L'.

You can select a ring ofvertices with the 'R' key.

Yeah sorry,
I probably didn't explain that very well. I ment a ring of vertacies, with the option to select a (row) going verticly, or a ring horisontaly.
I hope I'm making sense...I could explain so easily with a picture, oh well.

The the 'L' and 'R' keys are the way to go. play a little bit with it to have a feeling of what these commands are doing and tell me if it is what you have in mind....

Ah yes,
I was aware of the lassoo and rec-select tools (just not their keyboard shortcut), but I beleive my idea will be much more useful in certain situations.

Because it seems too hard to explain without a picture, I am sending you one. The rest of my explanation will be attached.

I'm waitting for the pictures.
but use the Upper case letter. and loop tool is not lasso.
lasso is map on the 'l' key, loop on the 'L' key.

Ok, thanks, that is pretty much the same as what I was thinking of.
