that is very strange... The error reported is linked to the vc runtime libraries.. the 2 vcredist are normally installing the 2 necessary libraries as declared in the manifest... may be there is one for w7 and one for XP... I will investigate more and try to find a solution!

Hi Pierre,

When I use the Clean Symmetrical (Mirror Tool)
Only the first inner face is deleted.
The others still remain and I had to delete them manually.

Also when I use the Move Vertices Tool,
vertices which are on the symmetry plane move
ie They don't stay on the symmetry plane.

Albatross still doesn't work on XP.
Sad

Thanks anyway for the new beta of Albatross. Very Happy

Ok, I will check what is going on with the clean symmetrical...

For the move vertices, I think it will remain like this... The user need a way to move vertices away from the symmetrical plane. But I am working on a tweak tool, to move vertices individually, which is taking care of the symmetrical plane...

didn't had time to check what is going on with XP, but will do, for sure!!!

Hi Pierre

When I use the Plane Cut Tool,
I have to confirm 2 times so Albatross cuts the primitive . (When I want to use the Mirror Tool)
The first time it exits from the Mesh Tools

Also, any news about the XP built ?

Thanks.

Hello,

I don't understand... what are you doing exactly?

No, I need a pc with XP to do the test... but I don't give up!
It is only a problem of Visual C++ shared library, I need to find the correct one!!!

Greetings,

Pierre

Well,

The first time, the Plane Cut Tool doesn't cut the mesh in 2,
Albatross returns to the main screen .

But the second time I use the Plane Cut Tool, Albatross cuts the primitive in 2
bebore I use the Mirror Tool.

Also I hope you'll fix the the XP version very soon.

Thanks Very Happy

Sorry ... Find my mistake : the Plane Cut tool works great.
I'm a noob with 3D computer graphics.

I have one suggestion though so that Albatross gets the recognition it deserves.

1) A modeling tutorial ( a simple low poly cartoon model for instance)
like this one
http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/blender/creating-a-low-poly-ninja-game-character-using-blender-modeling/
2) This model textured and
3) rigged and animated in Albatross :
(a simple walk cycle with the same character)

I know : that's a lot of work but
All this would give Albatross a larger audience ... Very Happy

Hi Pierre,

Did you find a vc runtime library so Albatross can run on Win XP ?

Thank you very much.

I have uploaded an unofficial one in the usual place...
Among the new thinks, you can find support for 3D Connection input device, support for GLSL shaders in the viewports (with shadows), a new OpenGl rendering mode, support for drag and drop of 3D file...
On top of the new interface, the boolen operation, the render to/from texture, bullet physic simulations...

I also tried to use the Pinocchio library, the auto-rigging tool, but without success... maybe I will try to implement my own bone weight function, because currently, it is a laborious task...

so, still working hard on A3D...
