is there a way i can join two objects together. maybe join two faces

slect the two mesh and use the merge tool.

that is great.

after I merged the two objects then I was able to bridge two faces.
I assume to bridge face they must have the same number of vertices. I used two cylinders but didnt count the verts.

yes, they need to.
but nothing forbid to add a few vertices here and there so that the number of vertices matches.
